Morocco has three mobile networks: Maroc Telecom, Orange Maroc and inwi. All three run 4G across the country and launched 5G in the main cities on 7 November 2025. The local plans sold through this site are lines on Orange Maroc, one of the three, so the phone connects as a Moroccan line. The regional plans connect through a partner network in each African country.
What your phone will show
- On a local plan: the name Orange Maroc, with 4G or 5G beside it.
- On a regional plan: a partner network’s name in each country, which is why that plan needs data roaming on.
The networks, one by one
- Orange Maroc: the network the local plans run on, run by Médi Telecom.
- Maroc Telecom: the largest, legal name Itissalat Al-Maghrib.
- inwi: the third network, run by Wana Corporate, direct prices.
How to check the network on your phone
- Connect the eSIM as in Switch it on after landing.
- The status bar shows the network’s name next to 4G or 5G.
- For details: iPhone, Settings, Mobile Service, the line, Network Selection. Android, Settings, Network and internet, SIMs, the line, Carriers.
5G where you are going
The three networks launched 5G on 7 November 2025 in the six host cities of the Africa Cup of Nations: Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Tangier and Agadir. Orange Maroc lists Essaouira, Chefchaouen, Ouarzazate and Zagora among its covered towns, and the regulator counted 44% of the population covered at the end of March 2026. Coverage counts people, not land: in the desert and the High Atlas, download maps before you leave the towns.
When the plan’s days start
The store does not publish a start rule for these plans, so this site does not state one. Two facts it does publish: install the eSIM within 30 days of buying it, and write to the store before installing if your trip starts later, to confirm when the validity days begin.
