Which eSIM should I get for Morocco?

One that runs on a Moroccan network, if you can. The local plans on this site are lines on Orange Maroc, one of the country’s three networks, so the phone connects as a Moroccan line rather than as a roaming visitor. Then pick the days of your trip and the data you expect to use. The plans page compares them.

Do I need a passport for a SIM card in Morocco?

For a SIM bought in Morocco, yes. Since 1 April 2014 a prepaid line can only be activated once the buyer’s identity is registered, and visitors use their passport. An eSIM bought online before you fly is not registered at a counter. The full comparison is on eSIM or SIM card.

Does my phone take one?

Almost every iPhone from XR onward and most recent Android phones do. Check your phone, including the carrier-lock check.

Money and support

Should data roaming be on?

On a local plan the phone connects as a Moroccan line, so roaming is not needed. On a regional plan, turn data roaming on for the eSIM line. On your home line, keep it off so your home carrier does not charge you. The full setting guide is in the help centre.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, a full refund if the eSIM is not delivered, or if it cannot be made to work and cannot be fixed. A working eSIM is not refunded because your plans changed. Write to contact@baobabsim.com with your order link.

Will my phone work in the Sahara?

Often, but not everywhere. Coverage is thinner in the desert and in remote High Atlas villages, and Wi-Fi in desert camps is often patchy, so download maps before you leave the towns.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, a full refund if the eSIM is not delivered, or if it cannot be made to work and cannot be fixed. A working eSIM is not refunded because your plans changed. Write to contact@baobabsim.com with your order link.
